Albuquerque, NM - January 7, 2007The countdown has begun to Albuquerque’s “Souper Bowl”, Roadrunner Food Bank’s annual fundraising competition between the city’s finest restaurants.  On Saturday, January 27th, over 25 of Albuquerque’s best restaurants, hotels and caterers will be providing samples of soup and desserts.  All will be vying for the Championship titles of “Critics Choice" and "People’s Choice" awards.

Presented by Roadrunner Food Bank and New Mexico Mutual Group, Souper Bowl has become one of Albuquerque’s favorite events with a sell-out crowd of 1000 in attendance.  Held at Roadrunner Food Bank' warehouse, guests line up outside eagerly awaiting the 11am kick-off.  This year’s silent auction includes two tickets to anywhere on Southwest Airlines, fine art, jewelry, travel packages, gourmet foods and much more.

The proceeds from Souper Bowl 2007 benefit the programs of Roadrunner Food Bank.  For over 27 years, Roadrunner Food Bank has been providing hope to hungry New Mexicans.  Each year, Roadrunner Food Bank helps feed over 240,000 people state-wide through a network of 700 agencies and 7 regional food banks.  One-third of those helped are children who go to bed hungry each night and thousands are seniors who must make the choice between food and medicine.
