Prioritization of Services PolicyAgencies that receive product from Roadrunner Food Bank vary considerably in their range of services. The highest percentage of the Food Ban's partner agencies provide either emergency food boxes to be taken home by their clients or on-site meals for the needy at congregate facilities. To a lesser degree, the Food Bank also serves agencies that provide meals to the needy in conjunction with other programs. An example of this might be a non-profit day care center for low-income families or a charity group home serving individuals who are ill and suffering economic need. Consequently, it is very important to clarify which agencies receive priority standing with the Food Bank. Priority standing generally revolves around the nature and/or amount of product distributed to a given agency. As an example, soup kitchens might be assigned priority standing over group homes. Therefore, all agencies incorporated for the sole purpose of serving emergency food to the ill, needy, and infants (children under the age of 18) will have first priority to receive donated food products from Roadrunner Food Bank. Examples of these agencies include emergency food pantries, emergency shelters, and soup kitchens. Second priority will be given to agencies that provide congregate meals in conjunction with their programs. Examples of these agencies include, but are not limited to, group homes, rehabilitation centers for addiction, and living centers for developmentally disabled adults. Third priority will be given to organizations such as recreational youth programs, camps, day care centers, etc. that may or may not include some non-needy clientele, as long as the primary benefit of these agencies is to the needy. The examples given in this policy are not meant to be an all-inclusive list for prioritization, but one by which prioritization is more easily clarified. Any further need for clarification should be directed to the Agency Relations Director.
