There are many ways that individuals, families, civic groups, and businesses can get involved in the fight against hunger in New Mexico.

You can Volunteer

The work done by volunteers is priceless to the Food Bank.  Every hour of volunteer time helps to cut our staffing expenses.  So your time enables us to concentrate our financial resources on the acquisition, purchase and distribution of food to those in need.  Volunteers are essential in keeping our expenses low and enable the Food Bank to meet the increasing needs of New Mexico's hungry in tough economic times.

For more information on how you, your family, civic group, or business can volunteer with the Food Bank, please go to our VOLUNTEER page.

You can Make a Financial Contribution

Monetary donations help the Food Bank to purchase high quality foods, buy nutritious fruits & vegetables, pay for product transportation, and help cover our operating and staff expenses.  There are currently over 600 organizations helping feed the hungry in New Mexico who depend on the Food Bank as their primary source of food.  Your contributions help make sure that the Food Bank will always be here to help.

To learn more about making donations to the Food Bank, please visit our DONATIONS page.

You can Host A Food Drive

Food drives help the Food Bank to secure high quality, nutritious items for those in need at a minimal cost.  This vital resource is one of the Food Bank's main sources of non-perishable food year-round.

We have a wealth of information available on how to host your own food drive and start a community or workplace food drive.  Please go to our HOST A FOOD DRIVE page to find out more.

You can participate in the Plant A Row program

The Plant A Row for the Hungry program is an excellent way for gardeners to get involved with the Food Bank.  The program is really very simple.  If you have a vegetable garden or fruit trees consider donating your excess harvest to the Food Bank.  Or plant an extra row or two specifically for donating.  You can even write off the value of all of your donations on your tax returns!

For more information on this great program, please go to the PLANT A ROW page.

You can get your Business, Community Group, or Civic Group Involved

Businesses throughout the state play a vital role in assisting the Food Bank in it's mission to end hunger in New Mexico.

You can get your Food Service Company to become a regular donor

Roadrunner Food Bank collects food donations from all businesses in the food industry, in New Mexico and across the country.  We encourage all businesses in the food industry to donate the unmarketable, yet usable, food it would otherwise discard.

You can be an Advocate for Hunger Relief Issues

It's easier than you think!  Please let your elected officials know that the issue of domestic hunger relief is important to you and your family.  Write a letter, make a phone call, send an e-mail.
