Roadrunner Welcomes New

Director of Volunteer Services

Quick Links

Welcome to Stephanie Silver who has joined Roadrunner as the new Director of Volunteer Services.  Stephanie will help to coordinate volunteer participation with civic, school,

and church groups, businesses, families and individuals.

Ready to Get Started!:

Stephanie comes to us from Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless.  She is originally from Southern California and has BA in Linguistics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.  Stephanie says, “I’m thrilled to be a part of the great work of Roadrunner Food Bank.  I’ve already had the pleasure of meeting some of our wonderful volunteers and have been so impressed with everyone’s energy and enthusiasm.”

Volunteers are the lifeline of the Food Bank. In 2005, an estimated 5000 people volunteered their services and time to help in our mission of ending hunger.  Volunteers are essential to help Roadrunner Food Bank collect, receive and transport more than 15 million pounds of food each year. There are many ways to become involved with Roadrunner as a volunteer – sorting food, helping to repack our bulk donations, logistics, food drives, special events and help with office work and building maintenance.  Stephanie is committed to working with you to ensure that your volunteer time with Roadrunner is meaningful and rewarding.

Healthy Recipes:

Many times our cooler is filled with unfamiliar or mass quantities of produce.  As part of our Feeding Families and Healthy Foods Initiatives, Roadrunner is creating a recipe book to assist agencies and clients in the preparation of produce and non perishable foods from the food bank. Each month, our e-newsletter will feature a different recipe. If you would like to help with this project or donate healthy family favorites, please contact rebecca@rrfb.org.

The “Healthy New Mexican” Recipes
