Roadrunner Food Bank Events
We invite you to join us and become involved in events that benefit Roadrunner Food BankĀ® or host an event on our behalf! Some of the events listed below are developed and hosted by Roadrunner Food Bank staff, and others are community events that have been held on our behalf for many years. In addition to these regularly scheduled events, individuals and organizations in our community are always encouraged and invited to host a food and fund drive to support our mission and help solve hunger across our state.
If you are interested in hosting your own event or sponsoring one of our existing events, please reach out to the appropriate staff member using the contact information at the bottom of this page.
Providing food to New Mexicans who need a little help could not happen without help from supporters like you. Thank you for your support and making a difference for so many of our neighbors in need struggling with hunger!

MAY
Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive — this event is held annually the second Saturday in May and is hosted by the National Association of Letter Carriers, the United States Postal Service, and the Rural Letter Carriers Association. It is the largest food drive in the United States, held in 10,000 communities across the country. The community is encouraged to leave out bags or boxes filled with non-perishable food prior to their mail arriving for the day. Letter carriers pick up food throughout the day and bring it back to 11 area post offices. Volunteers and staff wait at post offices the day of the food drive and help unload postal vehicles and sort food prior to bringing it back to the food bank. Food collected in Albuquerque benefits Roadrunner Food Bank.

SEPTEMBER
Hunger Action Month — September is Hunger Action Month! Roadrunner Food Bank joins food banks across the country and Feeding America all month long to urge individuals to mobilize in our community around the issue of hunger. Help spread the word and take action on hunger by taking the empty plate challenge, walking/running using the Charity Miles app, sharing why hunger is such a serious issue on social media, and more!
